Thursday – Writing Tips Day

Using the senses in a story brings it alive. In THE CHRONICLES OF JOYA we taste and smell Hobo’s hot chocolate, we see the red paths snaking through the purple fields, hear the roar of Darcy’s motorbike.

Write a story about a vampire, a paper clip or a mouse. Your character makes a discovery through only two senses – smell and taste. Allow the reader to feel he is using his senses as he reads it. Why can’t you use sight? Is the character in the story blind, blindfolded, in a dark room or a forest?

Have fun. Happy Thursday! Liane x
