Thursday – Writing Tips Day

Thursday, May 28th, 2015

Using the senses in a story brings it alive. In THE CHRONICLES OF JOYA we taste and smell Hobo’s hot chocolate, we see the red paths snaking through the purple fields, hear the roar of Darcy’s motorbike.

Write a story about a vampire, a paper clip or a mouse. Your character makes a discovery through only two senses – smell and taste. Allow the reader to feel he is using his senses as he reads it. Why can’t the character use sight? Is he blind, ill, blindfolded, in a dark room or a forest?

Have fun. Happy Thursday! Liane x

Wednesday – Help Yourself Day

Wednesday, May 27th, 2015

When was the last time you did something for your soul? When was the last time you laughed out loud? Wrote a poem? Made music? Skipped down the street? Painted a picture? Walked in nature?

Which of these things, or something else, would give you a smile on the inside? Do one and have fun. Go on, feed your soul. I’m off to watch a bit of Star Trek and do a little sketching :)

Yo, Freddie’s in the house, guys. How you doin’? Ready to get those creative juices flowing?

You walk in and you’re ravenous. You open the fridge and a mountain of sand pours out onto you and the floor. And then …

Over to you, guys. Freddie xx

Wednesday – Help Yourself Day

Thursday, May 7th, 2015

Just for today think about what you did on a great day that made the day great. How did you feel? What sensations did you feel in your body? Close your eyes and remember. Apply one or two of those feelings or actions to today and watch your day fly!

   Happy Wednesday! Liane x
